PIERLUIGI CUCCURU

Pierluigi graduated in Law summa cum laude at the University of Pisa (2014). He then trained as a research assistant at the Centre for European Law and Internationalisation (CELI) of the University of Leicester, before being admitted to the Ph.D. program with a project on stakeholders’ participation within the European standardisation system.
His research interests lie in technical harmonisation within EU legal ordering – with special attention paid to judicial review and stakeholders involvement issues – and free movement law, as well as contract automation through blockchain technologies, a topic he studied within a research conducted in partnership with the Italian Securities and Exchange Commission (CONSOB).

 
 

ANTONIO DAVOLA

Antonio Davola graduated in Law summa cum laude from the University of Pisa and earned an advanced diploma summa cum laude from Sant’Anna. Currently he is an LL.M. candidate at Yale Law School, where he is a resident fellow at the Information Society Project.
His research addresses consumers’ protection against Unfair Commercial Practices and cognitive bias, competition law and the regulation of new technologies. Furthermore, he collaborates as Peer Reviewer for the journal Opinio Juris in Comparatione and as Lead Editor for the Yale Journal of Regulation.

 
 

GIUSEPPE DI VETTA

Giuseppe graduated summa cum laude in Law from the University of Pisa (2015) with a thesis on bankruptcy crimes, and earned an advanced diploma summa cum laude from Sant’Anna (2016). He underwent various research periods abroad at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and attended a course on competition law at the London School of Economics (LSE).
His research interests range from the interaction between national and supranational legality, to the interplay between crimes and criminal procedure, tax and bankruptcy crimes, environmental crimes, organized crime, corporate criminal liability, and corruption. His Ph.d. research specifically deals with abuse of power in public administration and private enterprise. Furthermore, Giuseppe is trainee lawyer at Studio Legale Padovani, in Pisa.

 
 

ANDREA PARZIALE

Andrea graduated summa cum laude in law at the University of Pisa (2015) and obtained an advanced degree summa cum laude at Sant’Anna (2016).
His research interests also cover other grey areas of the EU pharmaceutical and vaccine regulation, assessing how civil liability (and competition law) can play a role in tackling scientific and regulatory uncertainties, along with several issues of law and technology (algorithms, AI, and 3D printing).
Andrea’s Ph.d. proposal deals with the regulation and civil liability in the European market for unauthorised yet lawful uses of drugs.

 
 

PAOLO RAMETTA

Paolo Rametta graduated summa cum laude in Law from University of Pisa (2015).
His research interests are Constitutional law, welfare state and Common goods. He collaborates with Labsus – Laboratorio per la sussidiarietà, a project about subsidiarity that aims to promote citizens’ participation into public administration.

 
 

MARIA LORENA FLOREZ ROJAS

Maria Lorena holds a bachelor degree in law from Los Andes University, Colombia, and an LLM in Law and Technology from Tilburg University, The Netherlands.
Her research project is about geo-blocking practices online as an unfair restriction for digital content, which involves consumer, competition and IP law.
